Setting Individual RTI Academic Performance Goals for the Off-Level Student Using Research Norms

UCF
This document explains how to set off-level academic goals for students performing below grade level, using curriculum-based measurement (CBM) to establish baselines and monitor progress. It also includes case examples, such as a 3rd-grade student reading at a 1st-grade level. The teacher uses CBM to assess the student's baseline and sets a goal for the student to increase their reading fluency over 12 weeks. Progress is tracked weekly, with instructional adjustments made as necessary to ensure the student meets the set goal.
